Yeah, i posted URW here, fun game, but it's got boring for me over the years.

I apologize for calling your opinion uneducated, I misunderstood your arguement, I thought you didn't think that MMO's should charge subscription fees as all. And yes, some single player games can have much more if not equal playability as some MMO's, for example: Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, etc.

See, maybe that's a matter of preference;

I still lose hours to URW. Not as often, but I still go back to it. And I have literally countless games similar to it, both commercial and indie. My original post, if you go back to it, wasn't meant to be a flame wars, but rather just a counter-point to illustrate my separate opinion. You had said you didn't understand why people could justify buying a new game but couldn't justify paying the monthly fee which was so much less, and I was trying to illustrate why I could, and can.

Basically, I agree that true persistent world MMOs are a separate breed from single player, hosted / local multiplayer, or even instance-based MMOs in that the subscription fee is necessary for any kind of continued profit. I just feel that is necessary evil, as in the long run I just want to be entertained by a game, and will probably choose whatever I feel is the best long-term entertainment to dollar ratio available, which for me is a one time fee.

Hold back the tears.
Your love runs loose in the wilderness.
Our silence pushes me under.
Soft whispering on the darker you love to me.
Like sunset, your love falls.
As sad times fill to your lurid love.
In darkness I know you...
The sunlight showers my rain.

Meh. It looks more like a single-player game with "multiplayer" tagged on.

That's exactly why I'd like to play it.  I'm an extreme solo-er, and duo when I can, but I hate large groups with a passion.

Whats the point of playing an MMO then?

What's the purpose of having a few close friends as opposed to hanging out with hundreds of strangers at once?

I've been tracking that game for a bit now. I'm certainly going to give it a try when it comes out. Since I stopped playing WoW.

MMO's can be soloed very well.If you want interaction with others you could just chat on Yahoo or MSN.

There is a game I play, I play a solitary character, and if I run into anyone, he generally kills them, does not work with them >>
I love solo personally
